ARD UCH Donates PPEs to the Hospital.
The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University College Hospital branch, on Friday, 21st August, 2020 donated One hundred pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which included protective gowns, face shields and face masks, as part of efforts to support COVID-19 Response in the Hospital.
The President of the Association, Dr. Adedayo Williams, led the executive and members to make the donation to the management of the Hospital.
The Chairman (MAC) and Director of clinical services of the Hospital, Dr. Victor Akinmoladun received the items on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo.
In a brief address, Dr. Williams pointed out that crisis events were always an opportunity to show kindness and support, which necessitated the donation to help frontline health workers get better prepared for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We also congratulate the UCH management over the successful commissioning of the Tunde Afolabi Infectious Diseases Treatment Centre, it’s a good step in the right direction” he added.
Dr. Akinmoladun while responding to the gesture acknowledged the gallantry efforts of all Resident Doctors and other healthcare personnel in the hospital. He noted that being at the frontline of contact with COVID-19 patients is an appreciable effort to serving humanity.
Akinmoladun concluded by reiterating the Hospital’s commitment to stemming the COVID-19 pestilence.
“Let me assure you that your donation is highly appreciated as this would go a long way in aiding the availability of PPEs in the Hospital, on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, I thank you Immensely.” He said.
