UI COM ’89 SET GIVES BACK TO THE HOSPITAL.
The University of Ibadan College of Medicine 1989 set Alumni today donated some items to the hospital in appreciation of the impact the hospital has had on their lives. The donated items which include five Hematocrit Centrifuges with an accompanying hematocrit reader and some Heparinized Capillary Tubes with Plastic Seal and Lancets were donated in appreciation of the impact the hospital has had on their lives.
Also, Thirty-three packs of Accu-Chek machine with strips and lancets were donated by the COM ’89 set to all the thirty-three wards in the Hospital. According to Dr. Jokotade Adeleye, a consultant endocrinologist and a COM ’89 set alumna, “the COM ’89 set has recently been involved in the training of Nurses in Glucose testing which is why it has also donated the Glucometer testing machines.”
In his remarks, the hospital’s Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Victor Akinmoladun, on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, thanked the COM ’89 set for their act of kindness while assuring them that the donated items will be put to good use. It is also noteworthy that Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo is a distinguished alumnus of the COM ’89 set.
